OPENING TIP

• Weber State improved to 12-18 overall and 8-11 in Big Sky play following Thursday's 72-64 win at Idaho. The Wildcats are now tied for seventh in the league standings.

• Eastern Washington is 22-8 overall and 15-4 in league play. The Eagles have won six straight games, including a 100-77 win over Idaho State Thursday night.

• Weber State can still earn the seventh, eighth or ninth seed in the Big Sky Tournament.

• The Eagles have clinched at least a share of the Big Sky title and will clinch an outright title with a win on Saturday. EWU is seventh in the nation in scoring offense.

• Michal Kozak had a career-high 20 points with nine rebounds in Thursday's win.

• The game will be the 450th career game for Weber State head coach Randy Rahe.

• Weber State and Eastern Washington opened the Big Sky season with a 79-77 EWU win in Ogden on Dec. 28, and will now close out the conference season Saturday.

• Weber State holds a 49-26 all-time series lead over Eastern Washington but the Eagles have won three of the last four games in the series.

• In games in Cheney, WSU leads 18-16 all-time and has won two of the last three.

• The Big Sky Tournament will be March 11-14 in Boise, Idaho. Weber State will open action on Wednesday, March 11 in the first round.

LOTS ON THE LINE IN FINAL DAY OF BIG SKY PLAY

There are lots of scenarios as the 20-game Big Sky regular season comes to a close on Saturday. After Thursday's play Eastern Washington is on top of the league standings at 15-4 and has clinched at least a share of the conference title. A win on Saturday against Weber State would give the Eagles the outright title.

Northern Colorado and Montana are tied for second at 14-5. The Bears will clinch the number two seed with a win Saturday or a Montana loss. The Grizzlies can clinch the number one seed with a win and losses by EWU and UNC.

The fourth, fifth and sixth seeds are now set for the conference tournament. Portland State has clinched the fourth seed with Montana State fifth, while Northern Arizona has clinched the  sixth seed. Idaho and Idaho State will play Saturday for the 10th and 11th seeds.

The 2020 Big Sky Tournament will be held March 11-14 at CenturyLink Arena in Boise, Idaho.

SEVENTH, EIGHTH OR NINTH SEED FOR WEBER STATE

With one game left, Weber State can still finish anywhere from seventh to ninth in the league standings. A win Saturday would clinch the seventh seed for the Wildcats. With a loss, the Wildcats would need losses by Southern Utah (at Montana) and Sacramento State (at Portland State) to clinch the seventh seed. Otherwise, WSU would finish eighth or ninth. In case of a three-way tie, WSU would earn the No. 7 seed by a combined 3-1 record against SUU and SAC. The Wildcats will open the Big Sky Tournament in the first round on Wednesday, March 11 and will play at either 9:30 a.m. or approximately 12 p.m. in Boise.
