Wildcat men's tennis takes down Idaho State

OGDEN, UT - Weber State men's tennis continued the 2020 season on Saturday afternoon with a 5-2 conference win over Idaho State.Â
"The match against Idaho State always plays hard against us," said men's head coach, Brad Ferreira. "We had some very close matches and were lucky to pull this one out."
In doubles action, Idaho State grabbed a close win in the no. 1 spot, but WSU duo Sebastian Buxman and Arthur Serafim took down ISU's Johac and Rendek 7-6 in the no. 2 spot, and duo Brendan Barr and Cezary Walkusz beat the Bengals' Prinsen and Hartman 7-6 in the no. 3 spot to come away with the doubles point.
In singles play, Brendan Barr kicked things off on a great note for the Wildcats by defeating Yohann Prinsen 6-2, 6-3. Sebastian Buxman was the next WSU player to come away with a victory as he defeated Rendek 7-6, 6-3, to bring the overall match score to 3-0.
Idaho State was able to come away with a win in the no. 3 and no. 1 spots, however, Arthur Serafim competed well and won in the no. 2 spot against Lohse that went to three sets with scores of 6-2, 4-6, 6-4. Cezary Walkusz earned the victory in the no. 6 spot against Hartman in three sets; 6-1, 5-7, 7-6. With these wins, Weber State men's tennis clinched the match.
Weber State (5-3 overall, 1-0 Big Sky) will take on UC Davis on Saturday, February 15th at 11:00 am in Las Vegas, Nevada.
