Men's tennis goes 1-1 on the weekend

MOSCOW, ID AND CHENEY, WA - Weber State men's tennis took on the University of Idaho and Eastern Washington this weekend and came out 1-1.
Match vs University of Idaho
"This one hurts," said men's head coach, Brad Ferreira. "We played excellent doubles. Kris and Johnny had a great win over a nationally ranked team. We were up 3-0 when the wheels came off. Idaho played incredibly well when they needed to and just flat out outplayed us."
In doubles play, the Wildcat men found victories in each match. WSU duo Kris van Wyk and Bo-Han Li earned the win in the no. 1 spot against Santibanez and Bascon 6-4. In the no. 2 spot, Sebastain Buxman and Arthur Serafim beat Dhaifullah and Casino 7-6. Cezary Walkusz and Brendan Barr gave the Wildcats the final doubles win in the no. 3 spot when the defeated Scarpelli and Ramesh 6-4.
In singles play, Kris van Wyk defeated Bascon 6-3, 6-2 in the no. 1 spot. Sebastian Buxman gave the Wildcats their third and final point in the no. 4 spot when he defeated Casino 6-4, 6-2. The Vandals earned points in the no. 2, no. 3, no. 5, and no. 6 spots.
Match vs Eastern Washington
"We were very lucky to get away with the win today," said Ferreira. "Killian played great and pulled the win out for us."
In doubles play, Weber State took one out of the three matches. Kris van Wyk and Bo-Han Li earned the only doubles win for the Wildcats, beating Bulce and Mueller 7-6. Cezary Walkusz and Brendan Barr narrowly missed the victory in the no.3 spot, falling 6-7 to Ortega and Doumen.
In singles play, the Wildcats found victories in the no. 1, no. 2, no. 4, and no. 6 spots. Kris van Wyk defeated Khachatryan 6-1, 6-4 in the no. 1 spot. Arthur Serafim beat Mueller in the no. 2 spot 6-2, 6-1. Sebastian Buxman defeated Ortega 6-3, 4-6, 6-3 in the no. 4 spot. Killian Sinclair earned the victory in the no. 6 spot against Bats 3-6, 6-3, 6-4. With that victory, the Wildcats won the match 4-3.
Weber State (8-7 overall, 3-1 Big Sky) will take on Portland State on March 13th in Portland, Oregon.
