Wildcat men's track and field compete at Air Force Invitational

COLORADO SPRINGS, CO - The Weber State men's indoor track and field team had many good performances at the Air Force Invitational hosted by Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Many high-quality teams competed at the meet, including BYU, Air Force, SUU, California, and Colorado State. 

"We had some great performances at the Air Force Invitational," said men's head coach, Corbin Talley. "Caleb and Xakai kicked it off well for us with a 1-2 finish in the heptathlon--with scores that are #2 and #4 on our all-time list. They are now ranked #4 and #11 in the NCAA. We had other strong performances by Cade Palmer and Isaac Tillet in the 60m dash, Cyrus in the hurdles, and Anthony in the high jump."

In the men's 60 meters final, Cade Palmer earned fifth place, with a time of 7.0. This is a personal best for Palmer in the 60 meters. Isaac Tillet placed ninth in the semis with a time of 6.96, but did not make it into the finals. Isaac Tillet also competed in the men's 200 meter preliminaries, and earned 15th with a time of 22.38.

In the men's 400 meters preliminaries, Cyrus Rindlisbacher placed 10th with a time of 50.23; and Matt Masias finished 17th at 51.47. This time is a personal best for Masias. 

Bryce Anderson did well in the men's 800 meters final, placing in sixth with a time of 1:58.52. Matt Masias also placed 11th, with a time of 2:01.55 in the 800 meters.

In the men's 60 meter hurdles, Cyrus Rindlisbacher finished in third place with a time of 8.30. Weber State 'A' earned fifth place in the men's mile relay, just one second behind Colorado State. 

Anthony Garcia had a fantastic performance in the men's high jump, earning second place with a jump of 2-05m, nearly earning himself first place. This is a personal best for Garcia. Ryan Shearman earned 10th place in the pole vault, with a vault of 4-60. 

Xakai Harry earned sixth place in the long jump, with a jump of 7-11.

The Wildcats performed well in the heptathlon, with two men placing in the top five spots. Caleb Whitney earned second place with 5,189 points. This performance is a personal best for Whitney. Xakai Harry earned third place with 4,957 points, to also earn a personal best.

"We're still shaking off the rust from not competing for so long, but we're seeing some great progress. We're really looking forward to being on our home track this next week," said Talley.

The Wildcats will host the Weber State Indoor Invitational on January 29-30 in Ogden, Utah.
