Weber State volleyball beats Eastern Washington

OGDEN, UT - The Weber State University women's volleyball team finished out their first weekend in the 2021 spring season with a 3-1 win against Eastern Washington. The Wildcats are now 2-0 in the season.
The Wildcats played very well in the first set, earning a 20% hitting percentage, and 13 kills. Weber State had energy and kept their momentum going throughout the set. The Wildcats took the first set point 25-20 against the Eagles
The Eagles stepped it up in the second set, and the Wildcats struggled to keep the ball in-bounds while hitting. Though it was a more difficult battle against Eastern Washington, Weber State fought hard until the end. The Eagles took the second set 25-21.
In the third set, momentum passed back and forth between the Wildcats and Eagles throughout the set, and the teams' scores increased relatively evenly. Midway through the set, the Wildcats went on a seven-point scoring streak when Rylin Adams completed five kills. The point streak gave Weber State the momentum they needed to earn the set win at 25-17.
The Wildcats showed a lot of energy in the fourth set, and the team showed patience and determination to finish out the match. The final match point was earned by Sam Schiess with a nice tip over the net to give Weber State the win. The set ended at 25-22.
Rylin Adams played well, leading the team with 18 kills and 10 digs. Dani Nay had 15 kills and 11 digs, and Sam Schiess had 10 kills and 11 digs.
The Wildcats continue the spring 2021 season on January 31st, when they head to Missoula, Montana to take on the Grizzlies.
