Weber State Takes Down Montana 5-2

LAS VEGAS, NV - The 'cats pick up their first win of three road matches against Montana today at the UNLV Tournament.
"Montana always has strong teams, so for us to pull out a win against them is always encouraging," said head coach Brad Ferreira.
The match started off with a win from Montana for the doubles point. WSU duo Sebastian Buxman and Arthur Serafim took the win in the no. 2 spot 7-5.
In singles play, the 'cats dominated. Bo-Han Li had a great victory against Sam Nicholson 7-5, 6-1. Kris Van Wyk came away with a win as he defeated Ed Pudney in three sets with the scores being 4-6, 6-3, 6-4. Sebastian Buxman took the win 7-5, 6-4 and Brendan Baar earned the point 7-6, 7-5. Michiel Van Schoor also took the victory in three sets with the scores being 6-1, 4-6, 6-3. Montana was able to pick up a point making the final score 5-2 for the Wildcats.
"I thought our guys competed very well in cold conditions after a very slow start in the doubles," said Ferreira.
The Wildcats take on New Mexico State and UNLV tomorrow Saturday, January 30th.
