WSU hits the road at Southern Utah Saturday

Final conference game between Weber State and Southern Utah will be Saturday in Cedar City.
• Weber State returns to the road for the second game of 2021 in Cedar City as the Wildcats take on in-state rival Southern Utah Saturday afternoon. The Beehive Bowl with the Thunderbirds will kickoff at 2 p.m. at Eccles Coliseum in Cedar City. The game will be televised on ESPN+ and the ESPN app. WSU radio coverage will be on 103.1 FM "The Wave" with live stats at WeberStateSports.com.
Final conference game for instate rivals
This will be the final conference game between Weber State and Southern Utah, which has become known as the Beehive Bowl, and has seen some very memorable games in the series. The two schools have played every year since 2011, and Southern Utah joined the Big Sky in 2012. SUU is leaving the conference for the Western Athletic Conference in July 2022. Weber State has won four straight and five of the last six games against the Thunderbirds.
Weber State drops home game to Portland State
The Wildcats saw their two-game winning streak come to an end with a 30-18 loss to Portland State last Saturday at Stewart Stadium. The Vikings were 8 of 15 on third down conversions in the win and totaled 23 first downs, compared to 15 for Weber State. PSU also dominated the time of possession at 35:15. The Vikings totaled 428 yards of offense and held Weber State to a season-low 256 yards of offense. The 'Cats had a season-low 69 yards rushing.
Road warriors
WSU returns to the road for the final time of the season on Saturday. The Wildcats were 3-0 on the road in October, including a win at No. 2 Eastern Washington. On the season, the 'Cats are 4-1 overall, including 4-0 against FCS teams on the road. However, Saturday's loss to Portland State dropped the Wildcats to 0-4 at home this season.
Weber State is the only school in the country that is undefeated on the road in FCS games, while also not winning a game at home.
WSU's four-game road winning streak is tied for the fourth longest active streak in the nation.
The Wildcats have never finished a season undefeated on the road in FCS games. However, in 2008 and 2017, Weber State was undefeated on the road in the regular season, before losing road games in the FCS Playoffs.
