First Big Sky shutout win since 2007.

CEDAR CITY, Utah - Weber State sent Southern Utah out of the Big Sky with a dominating performance. The Wildcats shutout the Thunderbirds with a 62-0 win Saturday afternoon at Eccles Coliseum.

It was the final Big Sky game between the two in-state rivals and it ended with the first shutout by Weber State against a Big Sky team since 2007.

The Wildcats forced a season-high four turnovers in the win, which improved Weber State to 5-5 overall and 4-3 in Big Sky play with one regular season game remaining.

The Wildcats finished the regular season with a perfect 5-0 record on the road against FCS opponents. It's the third time in school history, WSU was undefeated on the road in Big Sky play.

The 62 points is tied for the ninth most in a game in Weber State history.

How it happened
The Wildcats forced four turnovers in the first 16 minutes of the game and all four led to WSU touchdowns.

Bronson Barron connected with Rashid Shaheed for a 70-yard completion. Then Creyton Cooper connected with Hayden Meacham for a 3-yard touchdown to put the 'Cats up 7-0.

After a Desmond Williams interception, Barron connected again with Shaheed for a 47-yard touchdown to make it 14-0.

Preston Smith had an interception at the end of the first quarter, which led to a Dontae McMillan two-yard touchdown early in the second quarter to make it 21-0.

With 8:45 to play in the second quarter, Southern Utah fumbled the snap deep in their own territory and Eddie Heckard recovered for a touchdown to make it 28-0.

After a Jared Schiess interception, defensive lineman Sione Lapuaho scored on a 1-yard touchdown to make it 35-0 with 7:47 to play in the second quarter.

After a defensive hold, Barron hit Shaheed again for an 8-yard touchdown that made it 42-0 with 5:00 left in the first half.

A Kyle Thompson 48-yard field goal to end the first half made it 45-0 at halftime. It was the most points in a half for the Wildcat in four years.

The 'Cats started the second half with another touchdown as Barron found Mecham again for a four-yard touchdown to make it 52-0. Kyle Thompson added a 36-yard field goal to make it 55-0.

The Wildcats put together a 7:11 drive that ended with a Damon Bankston six-yard touchdown run for the 62-0 final.
