Wildcats return to the road and Big Sky play Thursday at Montana State

Weber State and Montana State are both 9-4 on the season. Wildcats and Bobcats play Thursday on ESPN+.
• Weber State returns to the road and is back to Big Sky Conference play when the Wildcats head to Montana State Thursday night. Tipoff is at 7 p.m. at Brick Breeden Fieldhouse in Bozeman. The game will be televised on ESPN+ with WSU radio coverage on 103.1 FM "The Wave".
• The Wildcats are 9-4 on the season and 2-0 in Big Sky play. Weber State started the season 8-0, including Big Sky home wins over Northern Arizona and Portland State. Since then, the Wildcats have lost four of their last five games, including three-straight home losses to Utah State, BYU and Fresno State. WSU has played its last four and six of the last seven at home and will now play three-straight on the road. As a team, the Wildcats are second in the Big Sky in field goal percentage, steals and turnover margin.
• Montana State is also 9-4 and the Bobcats are 1-1 in Big Sky play and have won five straight games. MSU opened the Big Sky season with an overtime loss at Northern Colorado on Dec. 2 and have not lost since. The Bobcats won at Sacramento State on December 4. Montana State is first in the Big Sky in field goal percentage at 46.5 percent and ranks second in scoring offense, scoring margin, 3-pointers per game, rebounding margin and blocked shots.
• Weber State's Dillon Jones leads the Big Sky and ranks ninth in the nation in rebounding at 10.4 per game. He has led the Wildcats in rebounding in 12 of the 13 games this season. He has eight double-doubles on the year, which is tied for the third-most of any player in the country. Jones is also shooting 58 percent from the field on the season and is fifth in the Big Sky in steals.
• Senior Koby McEwen leads the Wildcats and is seventh in the conference in scoring at 15.9 points per game and he has scored in double figures in 12 of 13 games. JJ Overton led the Wildcats with 12 points against Fresno State and is averaging 11.5 points a game and is second in the Big Sky in steals.
• This will be the 126th meeting between the two schools, with Weber State holding an 87-38 lead. The 87 wins is the most against any opponent in WSU history. The Wildcats won two games in Ogden last season and have won 13 of the last 15 against the Bobcats. In games in Bozeman, Weber State is 31-29 all-time and has won five of the last six.
• After Thursday's game, the Wildcats will open 2022 with a road game Saturday night at Montana. Weber State then plays at Idaho State on Saturday, Jan. 8.
