There will be a lot of football in 2021. Eight conference teams are gearing up for an unprecedented spring football season and the Big Sky Conference has announced its 2021 fall football schedule.Â
Â
The league membership elected to play the 2020 schedule for the 2021 season. The schedule maintains key rivalry matchups, as each Big Sky team will play four home and four away conference games. Â
Â
Weber State will have three non-conference games in 2021 in addition to an eight-game conference schedule. As previously announced, the Wildcats are scheduled to open the season on September 2 at Utah. WSU will also play at Dixie State on September 11 and will host national power James Madison on September 18.Â
Â
The eight-game Big Sky schedule for the Wildcats will begin on September 25 with a home game against UC Davis. The Wildcats will also host Montana State (Oct. 16), Portland State (Nov. 6) and Northern Colorado (Nov. 20) at Stewart Stadium.Â
Â
WSU will have road games at Cal Poly (Oct. 2), Eastern Washington (Oct. 23), Idaho State (Oct. 30), and Southern Utah (Nov. 13). The 'Cats have a scheduled bye week on October 9.Â
Weber State will not play Idaho, Montana, Northern Arizona or Sacramento State.Â
Â
With the departure of Southern Utah at the conclusion of the 2020-21 academic year, the previously released 2022 and 2023 Big Sky football schedules will be revised and announced in the coming months.
Â
Weber State begins the six-game spring season on February 27 at Idaho State with the home opener scheduled for March 13 against UC Davis.Â
