'Cats fall 71-66 in regular season finale

Weber State made a fourth quarter rally but couldn't hold off Northern Colorado as the Bears pulled out a 71-66 win over the Wildcats Friday night in Greeley in the final game of the regular season.
Weber State ends the regular season with a 2-19 overall record and 2-16 in Big Sky play and now prepares for the Big Sky Tournament, which begins Monday in Boise, Idaho.
WSU will be the No. 10 seed in the tournament and will face No. 7 Northern Arizona Monday at 5 p.m. in Boise in the first round.
The Bears led by as many as 14 points in the third quarter before the Wildcats rallied back. Weber State went on a 16-4 run that cut the UNC lead to 57-56 with 5:59 to play.
Northern Colorado led by two with 2:34 to play but the 'Cats couldn't get closer. UNC made five free throws in the final two minutes to hold off the Wildcats.
UNC shot 46 percent, compared to 44 percent for the Wildcats. The Bears won the rebounding battle 29-23 and had seven blocked shots.
Kori Pentzer scored 20 points on 6 of 7 shooting, including two 3-pointers. She was also 6 of 6 from the free throw line and had five rebounds and three assists.
Daryn Hickok added 13 points with three rebounds, Dominique Williams had 11 points and Aloma Solovi had 10 points and four steals.
All games of the Big Sky Tournament will be streamed online on Pluto TV 1051 and on WatchBigSky.com.
