Women's Tennis Drops Two To Wyoming In Doubleheader

Laramie, WY - It was a tough day on the courts for the Weber State tennis team this morning as the Wildcats fell 7-0.

The Weber State women's tennis team returns home following a two-match loss against the Wyoming Cowgirls this morning, leaving the Laramie Tennis Complex with a 7-0 defeat in both matches.

"It was a tough weekend," said head coach RuthAnn Allen. "Today we came out more determined and made better adjustments, but Wyoming was solid."

Weber State duo Ana Morett Salas and Yuuna Ukita defeated Maria Oreshkina and Noesjka Brink, 6-2 at No. 1 doubles but it was not enough as the Cowgirls secured the doubles point behind the strength of wins at the No. 2 and No. 3 spots.

The Wildcats' played hard during singles play but ultimately were unable to come away with the victory. Megan Davies came close in the No. 4 spot with a 6-3, 4-6, 6-4 loss against Lucia Malinak. Ana Morett Salas fought hard in the No. 2 spot against Maria Oreshkina but was unable to secure the point 6-2, 5-7, 6-2.

The Cats' are back on the road March 8th against Boise State.
