Weber Tennis Drops Match To Utah

Salt Lake City, UT - The Weber State men's tennis team went up against Utah Wednesday afternoon at the George S. Eccles Tennis Center. The Cats' competed well as they only had four players, at No. 3 doubles and No. 5 and 6 singles the Utes won by default.
"We only had four guys who were healthy and able to play today," said head coach Brad Ferreira.
The Utes took an early lead in doubles play with Geronimo Busleiman and Luis Flores defeating Kris Van Wyk and Brendan Barr, 6-2.
Bo-Han Li and Sebastian Buxman battled against Francisco Bastias and Slava Shainyan but were defeated, 5-6. At No. 3 doubles, Utah won by default.
In singles play, Weber put up a fight on all courts but saw losses in the No. 1, 3, and 4 positions.
Sebastian Buxman earned Weber their sole point of the day on court 2 as he defeated Slava Shainyan in a three-set match, 6-7, 6-4, 1-0.
At No. 5 and 6 singles, the Utes won by default.
"The guys who played today played very well," said Ferreira. "We hope that everyone is healthy and ready Saturday for our match against Sacramento State."
