Women's Tennis Defeated by NAU in Big Sky Finals, 4-2

Phoenix, AZ - The Weber State women's tennis squad competed in the finals of the 2021 big Sky Tennis Championship today (May 2) and fell 4-2 to Northern Arizona at the Phoenix Tennis Center. Today's loss marks the end of the 2021 spring season.Â
The Cats took an early lead collecting the doubles point after wins from Weber State duos Sicely Ferreira and Megan Davies at No. 2 and Megan Lombardi and Pei-Hsuan Kuo at No. 3.Â
In singles action, NAU claimed points in the No. 4 position first and shortly followed by the No. 3 position.Â
Weber State was down 2-1 with four matches still to finish.Â
Megan Lombardi competed well as she earned the Cats their second point on court 2 when she defeated Mimi Bland, 6-4, 6-4.Â
NAU picked up wins on courts 1 and 6 to clinch the match.Â
The Wildcats finished the season with an 8-11 overall record.Â
