Damian Lillard hosts another great Weber State Alumni Classic

Fresh off a gold medal at the Olympics, Damian Lillard hosted another Weber State Alumni Classic and thrilled the crowd with 41 points and 11 3-pointers.
Fresh off a gold medal at the Olympics, Damian Lillard hosted another Weber State Alumni Classic and thrilled the crowd with 41 points and 11 3-pointers.Â
"It's always a pleasure to be back and I think everyone knows how much pride I take in being a Weber State Wildcat," Lillard said. "It's important for me and all the other alumni to get together and It's always a great time acknowledging the history of this program."
Lillard played all 40 minutes and scored 41 points and grabbed 11 rebounds with 11 3-pointers and four steals.Â
Nick Covington (2005-06) added 19 points for the Purple team and Nic Sparrow (1997-04) and Chris Woods (1998-02) each had eight. Wildcat head coach Randy Rahe coached the purple team.Â
The game came down to the end with the White team winning the game 93-92. Cody John (2016-20) led the white team with 22 points with five 3-pointers. Steve Panos (2006-10) added 11 points and Frank "Mook" Otis (2011-13) had 10. The white team was coached by former WSU head coach Joe Cravens and current WSU associate head coach Eric Duft. Â
Prior to the game former Wildcat great Eddie Gill (1998-00) won the 3-point contest, knocking down 17 3's to beat out Nic Sparrow. The team of Mike Sivulich, Nick Hansen and Kyle Bullinger won the Shooting Stars contest.Â
This was the fourth Weber State Alumni Classic Lillard has hosted at Weber State.Â
