Wildcat football selects team captains for 2021 season

Bronson Barron, Ty MacPherson, Conner Mortensen, Jared Schiess and Rashid Shaheed will serve as captains this season.
As selected by the team, Weber State has announced the captains for the 2021 season. Five players have been selected to serve as captains.Â
This year's captains are freshman quarterback Bronson Barron, junior wide receiver Ty MacPherson, senior linebacker Conner Mortensen, senior defensive lineman Jared Schiess and senior kick returner and wide receiver Rashid Shaheed. MacPherson, Mortensen, Schiess and Shaheed were all captains during the spring season. Â
The Wildcats have won four straight Big Sky titles and enter the 2021 season as the preseason favorites in the conference polls. Weber State is also ranked sixth in the nation in the FCS national polls.Â
Weber State opens the 2021 season on Thursday, September 2 at Utah with the home opener set for September 18 against James Madison.Â
