Wildcats Suffer A Tough Loss Against The Bengals 63-69

Pocatello, ID - The Weber State Wildcats fought hard Thursday night against the Idaho State Bengals but suffered a 63-69 loss dropping to 7-10 overall.Â
The battle between WSU and ISU was hard-fought. The Wildcats went out and found early momentum within their first few possessions. After the opening quarter, Weber lead 20-16.
Throughout the second quarter, the Bengals took the advantage as they held the 28-38 lead going into the half.Â
The Cats kept it close in the fourth quarter, trailing the Bengals 56-60 with 1:49 left to go. Giving it their best effort, Jadyn Matthews made it close with a 3-pointer to get the Cats within four points at 61-65. Two free throws were made by Emri Lovell with 00:08 left giving the Bengals just a three-point lead. Ultimately ISU hung on for the win with a final of 63-69.Â
Jadyn Matthews was the leading scorer for WSU as she finished with 20 points and seven rebounds. Daryn Hickok ended with 18 points and six rebounds for the Wildcats.Â
