Miller played for Weber State women's basketball from 1976-79 and still holds many career and single-game records. She will be the first female athlete to have a jersey retired at Weber State.

Weber State Athletics and Wildcat women's basketball will retire the jersey of former Weber State standout Kathy Miller, making her the first female athlete in Weber State history to have a jersey retired.

The jersey ceremony will be during the Weber State home game on Saturday, February 12 against Idaho.

A native of Ogden, Miller played four seasons of basketball for Weber State from 1976-79, and still holds a multitude of career and single-game records.

She was a four-time All-Mountain West Conference performer, a four-time All-Region performer, and was named the Team MVP all four seasons.

She still ranks as Weber State's career leader in five statistical categories and ranks in the top 10 in four other categories.

She is first all-time in scoring with 2,745 points in 100 career games played. Her career scoring average of 27.5 points per game is also first. She is first in career rebounding average at 13.0 and first in career field goals made with 1,082.

She is second in career rebounds with 1,296, second in free throws made, third in free throws attempted, and eighth in field goal percentage.

She set several single-game and single-season records that still stand, including scoring 50 points in a game.

Miller still has the top eight scoring games and 10 of the top 12 games in Weber State history. She scored 50 points against Utah State on December 16, 1976.

She scored 40 or more points nine times and 35 or more points 14 times, in the days prior to a 3-point line.

She also still holds the Weber State single-game rebounding record with 26 rebounds against Colorado State in 1977. She has five of the top nine single-game rebounding records and recorded 20 or more rebounds seven times.

Miller also has six of the top eight single-game field goal records and had 16 or more field goals 10 times.  She holds the record for free throws in a game with 19 and free throw percentage when she was 16 of 16 in a game against Ricks in 1977.

She scored 905 points as a senior and averaged 31.5 points per game as a sophomore, both records that still stand today. She has the top three single-season scoring averages and holds the top records for field goals made and attempted in a season.

Miller was a multi-sport star at Ogden High School. In addition to Weber State, she also played on the Wildcat volleyball and softball teams. She was a four-time all-conference player in softball and holds the previous era record in career batting average with a .376 percentage, and ranks in the career top 10 in five other categories.

She was part of the first-ever class inducted into the Weber State Athletics Hall of Fame in 1989.

"We are excited to honor Kathy Miller with a jersey retirement," said Weber State Director of Athletics Tim Crompton. "She was an incredible player and to this day remains the all-time leading scorer. Kathy laid a foundation of excellence not only for women's basketball, but for all women's sports. It is appropriate that Kathy Miller's jersey is the first women's athletic jersey retired at Weber State University."
