Top 10 School Marks Highlight Strong Week for Track and Field

The Wildcats competed in two meets this weekend with some athletes invited to compete at the University of Washington Invitational in Seattle, Washington, and several invited to compete at the Stacy Dragila Invitational at Idaho State University in Pocatello.Â

Washington Invitational
Â
The meet in Washington was highlighted for the Wildcats by a fifteenth-place finish by Tracen Warnick in the 3000m, his time of 8:01.47 ranks 2nd on the Weber State all-time list. Bronson Winter cracked into the top-10 list as well with his time of 8:11.43 which ranks sixth on the school's list.

Continuing the top-10 shake-up, Dallin Leatham put up a seventh-place all-time school mark in the 5k with a time of 14:21.41 and an eighth-place finish in the meet

Isaac Tillett performed well in the meet, finishing fifth in the 60m dash (7.05) and tenth in the 200m dash at 22.87.

Stacy Dragila Invitational (Idaho State)

The Wildcats performed very well in Pocatello with several top-10 finishes for the meet.

Cyrus Rindlisbacher finished first in the 60m hurdles with a time of 8.12 making it two straight meets with a number-one collegiate finish. He also had a number-5 finish in the 400m at 50.15.

In the 200m Alex Wheeler finished at 22.38 to place second for the meet.

There were several top-10 finishes in the 800m run with Joe Corbridge finishing fifth at 1:56.40. Bryce Anderson finished seventh at 1:57.70 and Kayden Harmon coming right behind for an eighth-place finish with a time of 1:58.84.

In the mile run Christian Allen placed third coming in at 4:16.47. Colter Blanchard (7th), Bryce Anderson (9th), and Harmon (10th) all finished in the top-10 as well.

Five athletes finished in the top-10 in the 3000m run with Peter Visser earning a second-place finish with a time of 8:29.50. Logan Anderson placed fourth at 8:323.93, and Ty Davis (6th), Taylor Knight (9th), and Conner Cox (10th) round out the other top finishers.

The field athletes performed strong as well in this meet with several Pole Vaulters placing in the top-10. Ryan Shearman put up a number five mark on the Weber State all-time list by clearing 16' 04.75" and earning a second-place finish at the meet. Lachlan Burns finished third in the event with a 15' 11" mark, and Jed Smith (5th) and Parker Sagers (7th) also performed well.

Coach Corbin Talley commented, "It was a great weekend. Some really strong marks and a lot of great progress." The Wildcats hope to continue that progress this week at a home as they host a meet here at Weber State on February 4-5, 2022.
