OGDEN, Utah – Weber State volleyball started its senior week by falling to Montana State 3-0 (21-25, 20-25, 24-26) on Thursday night.
It just wasn't the Wildcats' night from the start.
Weber State got out to an early 4-1 lead to open the match, but that advantage evaporated as the Bobcats took a 15-12 lead heading into the first media timeout. That three-point lead ballooned to a 21-14 edge when the Wildcats made a late run to cut the lead to three, but MSU finished off the set with a 25-21 victory.
The following set was nearly a carbon copy of the first. Weber State with an early lead, Montana State rallied to take control, the Wildcats score some late points in an effort to comeback, MSU takes the set.
Following the extended break in between sets, it seemed like Weber State was going to take the third. Weber State's frame was highlighted by a seven-point run that featured a pair of kills from Dani Richins. Montana State, however, had other plans. The Bobcats went on an unbelievable run to finish out the set at 26-24, and complete the sweep.
Weber State (16-10, 10-5) drops their penultimate match of the regular season and will look to rebound on senior night against Montana.
NOTABLES
- Richins' third dig of the match also happened to be the 1,000th dig of her storied career.
- Richins led the team in kills (10) and digs (20), and was the lone member of Thursday's double-double club.

- Weber State out-blocked the Bobcats 12.0-5.0. Rueckert was the leading blocker with one solo block and five block assists.
QUOTABLES
