Wildcats get back on track with 65-50 win over Hornets

OGDEN - Weber State had a big second half to get back on the winning track with a 65-50 victory over Sacramento State Thursday night at the Dee Events Center.
The Wildcats trailed at halftime but outscored the Hornets 31-15 in the second half to secure the win and snap a three-game losing streak.
Weber State is now 19-8 overall and 12-4 in Big Sky play with four conference games remaining.
How it happened
The Hornets had an 8-0 run late in the half and held a 35-34 lead at the break, despite WSU shooting 62 percent from the field in the half.
Weber State jumped out to an 11-point lead midway through the first half and never looked back. The Wildcats had a 12-2 run and led 60-47 with 9:10 to play and the lead was never less than 11 the rest of the way.
Key numbers
Weber State shot 57 percent from the field and held the Hornets to 34 percent shooting. The Wildcats also won the rebounding battle 34-22 and WSU was 9 of 11 from the free throw line.
Four Wildcats scored in double figures and two had double-doubles. JJ Overton led the team in scoring with 16 points on 7 of 9 shooting.
Dillon Jones had his 14th double-double of the season with 12 points and 11 rebounds and Koby McEwen had his first double-double as he finished with 11 points and grabbed a career-high 12 rebounds.
Dontay Bassett also added 11 points for the Wildcats and Seikou Sisoho Jawara had nine.
