Weber State Falls 55-60 To UNC In Overtime

‘Cats fourth quarter comeback pushes into overtime
Greeley, CO – The Weber State women's basketball team 5-12 in Big Sky play (9-17 overall) fell in overtime this Saturday afternoon to the Northern Colorado Bears.
How it Happened:
Starting the game, it was a tough first half for the 'Cats as they trailed the Bears for the first 20 minutes of game play. The Bears led with an 8-point advantage 3 minutes into the second quarter, with their largest lead being 10. Weber State was able to cut that lead to 5 at 13-18 with 6 minutes to go till the half. The 'Cats kept up their momentum playing great offensively but could not get ahead of the Bears, going into the half at 23-27.
Into the fourth and final quarter of regulation, it had been low scoring for the 'Cats at 7-16-12. However, within the first 3 minutes Weber State cut the lead to 2 at 41-43. The Bears had led the entire game but the Wildcats battled to make this a ball game again with 7:20 to go in the fourth quarter. With 4 minutes remaining the Bears went to a full court press, but great offensive play by the Wildcats tied up the game 47-47 with 2:45 remaining. The 'Cats took their first lead of the game with 2 minutes remaining when Kori Pentzer made the field goal putting them ahead by 2. Two free-throws then made by the Bears with just a minute left tied the game again at 49-49.
A foul called on the Bears with 0:03 seconds on the clock gave the 'Cats the opportunity to win the game. Unfortunately, the 2 missed free-throws sent the Wildcats into overtime. Within the extra 5 minutes, the 'Cats could not get ahead giving the Bears the win, 55-60.
Numbers to Know:
Daryn Hickok and Jadyn Matthews both led the 'Cats today with 12 points each. Kori Pentzer ended the game with 11 points for the Wildcats.
