Wildcat football holds 2022 Pro Day

10 Wildcats competed in front of scouts from 15 NFL teams.
OGDEN - For the first time in three years, Weber State held a Pro Day as 10 outgoing Wildcat seniors showcased their talents in front of NFL scouts.Â
The Wildcat Pro Day was held Wednesday afternoon at the Marquardt Field House.Â
The 10 Wildcats participating were Ben Bos, Dave Jones, Randal Grimes, Sherwin Lavaka, Conner Mortensen, Jared Schiess, Rashid Shaheed, Preston Smith, BJ Taufalele and Ty Whitworth. Â
Scouts representing 15 NFL teams were in attendance as the players went through drills, workouts and assessments.Â
The players participated in the 225-pound bench press, vertical and broad jumps, 40-yard dash and other on-field position and agility tests.  Â
This is the first time Weber State has held a Pro Day since 2019, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.Â
This senior class is part of four-straight Big Sky Championships and four appearances in the FCS Playoffs.Â
Rashid Shaheed earned All-American honors four times in his career and is the FCS career leader in kickoff return touchdowns. Conner Mortensen was a Big Sky Defensive MVP and a two-time all-conference first-team selection and Jared Schiess and Ty Whitworth earned first-team honors three times.Â
The 2022 NFL Draft will be held April 28-30 in Las Vegas.Â
