Women's Tennis Continues Winning Streak Defeating UM, 4-3

Missoula, MT - The Weber State women's tennis team continued its winning ways on Saturday morning at the PEAK Racquet Club. The 'Cats came away with a 4-3 victory over the Griz moving them to 4-0 in Big Sky play and 10-6 overall.
"We had a very tough match against Montana today. We fought hard to clinch the win. I'm proud of the team's efforts," said head coach RuthAnn Allen.
The Wildcats took an early lead in doubles action on the day as WSU duo Pei-Hsuan Kuo and Ana Morett defeated the Griz 7-5 in the No. 1 spot. To clinch the doubles point, in the No. 3 spot Yuuna Ukita and Megan Lombardi took the upper hand against Ivayla Mitkova and Alex Walker, 7-6 (7-3).
The Griz collected the first singles point of the day at No. 1. Not far behind in the No. 4 spot Yuuna Ukita defeated Ivayla Mitkova, 6-3, 6-1. Megan Davies defeated Maria Goheen, 6-4, 6-3 positioning the Wildcats three points ahead of the Griz. Montana fought back as they earned wins at Nos. 3 and 5.
Earning the 'Cats their fourth and final point of the day, Megan Lombardi took the victory against Claudia Reguant, 6-4, 6-2.
The Wildcats will be back on the courts Sunday, March 27 to face Montana State with the first serve set at 10 a.m.
