Fisher Heads Wildcat Charge to Lead at Big Sky Championships

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – Reese Fisher fired a bogey-free 6-under par 64 in the second round of the Big Sky Conference Championships at Talking Stick Golf Club to lead the Wildcats on a big move up the leaderboard into the top spot with one round remaining.
As a team, the Wildcats shot an even-par total of 280 on the day to move three spots into first place with a total of 578. After the opening 18 holes on Monday, Weber State sat at 298 and was five shots back of first-round leader Idaho, which shot a 7-over par 287 on Tuesday to drop into second place at 580 through 36 holes. Northern Colorado also made a big jump in the standings, moving to third after matching Weber State and Binghamton with a 280 on Tuesday for a tournament total of 581. Sacramento State made a early push for the lead on Tuesday before fading to an 8-over par 288 on the day and dropping into fourth with a two-round total of 582.
Fisher carded four birdies over his opening nine holes to go out in 31, and added another two coming in for his second round 64, and took over the individual leader with a two-round total of 4-under 136. He holds a three shot lead heading into Wednesday's final round.
Hayden Banz posted a pair of birdies in an even-par second round 70 to move into a tie for fourth place at 3-over 143.
Brody Childs posted four birdies on Tuesday as he shot a 3-over par 73 to move into the top-20 in a tie for 19th place with a 36-hole total of 149, while Hunter Howe also shot 73 with four birdies to move into a tie for 28th at 153. Isaac Buerger added a 4-over par 74 and is tied for 26th place at 151.
First round leader Jose Suryadinata of Idaho was overtaken by Fisher despite shooting a 2-under par 68 on the day and sits in second place overall at 1-under par 139. Idaho's Colt Sherrell shot 67 on the day to move into third place at 140.
