Weber State Spirit Squad heads to NCA/NDA National Championships

Championships will be held Thursday-Saturday in Daytona Beach, Florida. The Wildcat cheer team has won four-straight national titles.

It's Championship time again for the Weber State Spirit Squad. The Wildcat cheer and dance teams are headed to Florida looking for another national championship trophy. 

Weber State will compete at the 2022 NCA/NDA Collegiate Cheer and Dance Championships this weekend in Daytona Beach, Florida. The competition will be held from Thursday-Saturday, April 7-9. 

The Wildcat Spirit Squad is looking to win its fifth-straight Division I national championship. The Wildcats will be competing in the Large Coed division once again, where they have won the last four years. In addition, Weber State will also compete in the small coed division. It will be the first time in school history the Wildcat cheer team will compete in large and small coed divisions. 

Last year the Wildcat spirit squad not only won the national title but also won the Grand National Championship with the best score of any school at any level in the competition. 

The cheer team will also have five couples competing in the partner stunt division.  

The Weber State dance team will compete in the Jazz and Hip Hop divisions. The Wildcats won the national title in Hip Hop in 2017. 

Summer Willis is the Spirit Squad Program Director and cheer coach. The dancers are coached by Erica Jordan.
