In what is becoming an April tradition, the Weber State Cheer team has added even more national titles to its trophy case.Â
Weber State won two Grand National Championships for the third straight year, as both the Large and Small Coed Wildcat teams claimed national titles at the NCA National Championships this week in Daytona Beach, Florida.Â
The WSU Large Coed team won the Division I title on Friday for the ninth straight national title. The 'Cats posted a score of 97 to win the event. It's the ninth straight and 10th overall in the Large Coed division.Â
The Wildcats followed that up on Saturday with another Grand Championship, beating the winners of each division. The 'Cats posted a score of 95.75 to win the title, beating Texas Tech, which finished in second place.Â
It's the fourth straight Grand National title and the fifth in the last six years.Â
The small coed team also took home two titles for the third straight year. They won the Division I title on Friday with a score of 96.1667, then came back on Saturday to claim the Grand National title with a score of 96.25, and also beat Texas Tech, which finished second.Â
WSU also finished first, second, and third in the Coed Partner Stunt division. Hailey Smith and Josh Hill won first place with a score of 85.2 for another national title.Â
The Wildcat cheer team is coached by Summer Willis.Â
