Champions! Weber State Cheer and Dance repeat with four national championships

Weber State cheer won two Grand National Championships for the second-straight year. The WSU Dance team won two national titles, including one Grand National Championship.
The Wildcat cheer and dance teams are bringing home four national championships for the second-straight year. The teams competed Thursday-Saturday at the NCA/NDA National Championships in Daytona Beach, Florida.Â

It was the second straight year four two Grand National titles for the cheer team. The 'Cats won the Division I national titles in the Large Coed and Small Coed divisions. They then both captured the Grand National title, beating the top team in every division at the competition. Â
The Grand National title is the best score in a competition among all division winners.Â
It's also the eighth straight national championship for the Large Coed team. The team won the Division I national title in Large Coed with a score of 97.8542 to claim the eighth straight title.Â
On Saturday, Weber State repeated as the Large Coed Grand Champions with a score of 97.6333. They defeated Texas Tech at 97.55 and Navarro College at 94.45 to claim the grand championship.Â
Weber State has now won the Grand National title in Large Coed in three straight years and four of the last five years.Â
WSU also repeated as champions in the Small Coed Division. They won the Division I title on Friday at 96.1542, then came back on Saturday to claim the Grand National title. The Wildcats posted a score of 97.0833 to win the grand title, ahead of Trinity Valley Community College and Texas Tech.Â
The Wildcat cheer team is coached by Summer Willis, who has led Weber State to national titles in 2009, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, and 2025, with grand titles in 2021, 2023, 2024, and 2025.Â
In addition, Weber State claimed more national titles in partner stunts. The coed team of Hailey Smith and Josh Hill repeated as champions in the Coed Partner Stunt with a score of 97.3778.Â
DanceÂ
For the second straight year it was a double championship for the Weber State dance team. The Wildcats won the national titles in Jazz and Hip Hop and also won the Grand National Championship in the Jazz division.Â
Weber State captured the Division I national title in the Jazz division with a score of 98, the best of 24 schools in the division.Â
They followed that up by winning the Grand National title in Jazz with a score of 97.6571, knocking off Boise State who was second and Davenport University who was third.Â
The dance also repeated as champions in Hip Hop. WSU won the Division I title with a score of 92.3429, beating Elon, Sacred Heart, and fellow Big Sky schools, Sacramento State and Idaho State, among others.Â
This is the fifth national title for Hip Hop, including three of the last five years.Â
Erica Jordan is the head coach of the Wildcat dance team.Â
