Weber State Dance wins UDA National Championship

Wildcats won the Division I Hip Hop Championship.
The Weber State dance team added to its trophy case with another national title.Â
In their first appearance at the UDA Championships this week in Orland, the Wilcats came home with a gold medal.Â
WSU won the Division I Hip Hop national championship. The Wildcats totaled a score of 94.1167 to win gold and finished ahead of St. John's, Utah Valley, and Grand Canyon, among others, to win the event. Â
In addition, WSU finished third in the Jazz division with a total of 93.1667.Â
The WSU dance team has won national titles in Jazz and Hip Hop in each of the last two seasons at the NDA Championships.Â
Erica Williams Jordan is the head coach of the Wildcat dance team.Â
On the cheer side, WSU also won a title in the Coed Partner Stunt finals as Hailey Smith and Josh Hill took home first place with a total of 95.5.Â
Johanna Smith and Taylor Demler were second.Â
The WSU cheer team will compete at the NCA Championships in April in Daytona Beach. The 'Cats have won two Grand National Championships in each of the last two seasons.Â
