Wildcat football ranked seventh in national poll

Weber State is ranked seventh in the nation in the AFCA Coaches poll and eighth in the Stats Perform poll. WSU is 4-0 to start the season for the first time since 1998.
OGDEN - With a 4-0 start to the season for the first time in 24 years, the Weber State football team continues to move up in the national polls and is now in the top 10. Â

The Wildcats are now ranked seventh in the country in the AFCA FCS Coaches poll and eighth in the Stats Perform poll.Â

The Big Sky Conference has four teams ranked in the top seven with Montana State second, Montana State fourth and Sacramento State fifth in the coaches poll.Â

Weber State is 4-0 to begin a full season for the first time since 1998. The Wildcats picked up non-conference wins over Western Oregon, Utah State, and Utah Tech.Â

The 'Cats opened Big Sky play with a 17-12 win at UC Davis Saturday night. Weber State has now won 21 of its last 23 road games against Big Sky opponents. Â

The Wildcats have this week off as a bye week. Weber State will return to action and be back home to host Eastern Washington on Saturday, October 8 at 6 p.m. at Stewart Stadium in the annual Homecoming game at Weber State. Eastern Washington is ranked 18th in this week's poll. Â
