Men’s Tennis Completes Play At The ITA Bedford Cup

USAF Academy, CO – The Weber State men's tennis team completed a three-day tournament at the 2022 ITA Bedford Cup In The Mountains at the Air Force Outdoor Intercollegiate Tennis Courts.
Weber State competed against players from Air Force, Boise State, BYU, Denver, Idaho, Montana State, New Mexico State, and Utah.
"We had some excellent results," said head coach Brad Ferreira. "I am very happy with the first tournament of the season and we played some good tennis."
In the doubles draw Tristan Sarap and Elyes Marouani made it to the finals before losing to Bosie, 7-6. Along the way, they beat the #2 seeded team from Utah and the #3 seeded team from Denver.
There were three different singles draws. Sebastian Buxman lost his first match in the A Draw but made it to the finals of the back draw. In the finals, he lost a close match to the #1 seeded player from Denver.
Freshman William Zulch played in his first college event in the B Draw. He made it to the finals beating the #1 seeded player from Denver but losing in the finals to the #2 seed from Denver. Elyes Marouani lost his first-round match but won three matches to win the back draw.
Matteo Savio won his first two matches in the C Draw but lost 6-4, 6-4 to the #3 seeded player and winner of the tournament from Boise.

Following this weekend's tournament, Weber State competes at Utah in the Utah Invitational from September 30 to October 2.
