Wildcats Close Out Weekend With 3-0 Sweep Over Vandals

Moscow, ID – Weber State volleyball closed out its road trip weekend in style on Saturday night by defeating the Idaho Vandals by a score of 3-0 (25-14, 25-20, 25-21). With the victory, the 'Cats improved to 8-3 on the season.
Set One
The Wildcats got off to a quick start in the first set as the WSU offense got rolling. After an 8-1 run made by the 'Cats, they wouldn't look back from there and went on to a 25-14 set victory.
Set Two
The Vandals held close in the second set pulling within five points of the Wildcats after being down 21-12. But two kills made by Weber State's Jayda Tupea and Dani Richins gave them the separation necessary to control the set, winning 25-20.
Set Three
In what proved to be the final set, the 'Cats dominated and had a lead as large as five points over Idaho. The Vandals rallied but it would be too late as the Weber State squad finished things out in three with a 25-21 tally.
Dani Richins led in kills (14) and Kate Standifird led all players in aces (6), blocks (3), and assists (32). Sophomore Ashley Gneiting put on a show with seven kills on the night.
