Women’s Tennis Wraps Up Regular Season Play Against Idaho

Moscow, ID – The Weber State women's tennis team closed out their 2023 season this Sunday morning with a 5-2 victory against Idaho. The win improves the 'Cats 6-2 in conference play awarding them the No. 2 seed in the Big Sky Tournament.
Kenadee Semenik and Sicely Ferreira won their match, 6-3, at the top of the lineup while Megan Davies and Ana Morett clinched with a 7-5 triumph on court one awarding the 'Cats with the doubles point.
Moving to singles play, Weber State increased their lead with wins on courts two and three. Megan Lombardi defeated Rachelle Starreveld 6-0, 6-2, and in a similar fashion, Davies earned the victory against Valentina Rodas 6-2, 6-0. Idaho earned its first team point on court one 6-2, 6-3 when Annabel Davis defeated Morett.
Clinching the match for the Wildcats, Cindy Ping An won 7-6 (7-2), 6-2 on court four when she defeated Saffron Dowse. Semenik secured the fifth and final point for the 'Cats on court five when she outlasted Selin Sepken 7-5, 7-6 (8-6).
The Wildcats will advance to the Big Sky Tournament as the No. 2 seed. The tournament will be held in Phoenix, Arizona April 27-29.
