Weber State Earns 6-1 Win Over Sacramento State On Senior Day

Women’s tennis improves to 5-1 in conference play.
Ogden, UT – The Weber State women's tennis team defeated the Sacramento State Hornets Sunday morning. The 'Cats won 6-1 in their final home match of the season and senior day for Megan Lombardi.
Weber State opened the match strong with doubles. Ana Morett and Megan Davies won the first match on court one against the duo of Weronika Ejsmont and Best Lee, 6-2. Dylan Lolofie and Megan Lombardi clinched the doubles point on court two, 6-3, against Mayya Gorbunova and Tsveti Yotova. Wildcat duo Kenadee Semenik and Sicely Ferreira fell 5-7 on court three against their opponents.
The Wildcats were able to extend their lead with Lombardi defeating Ejsmont first on court three, 6-0, 6-1. Semenik lost to Yotova, 6-2, 6-4, giving Sacramento State their first point of the match. Davies won on court two against Maddy Ferreros with matching set scores of 6-2. Lolofie clinched the match on court six against Julia Moraes, 6-2, 6-3. Morett finished closely behind her, beating Gorbunova in three sets 6-4, 1-6, 11-9. To close out the match, Cindy Ping An defeated Best 6-2, 4-6, 10-4 and awarded the 'Cats with a 6-1 victory.
