Reid is one of five players from the Big Sky on the preseason watch list for the prestigious pre-draft game.
Weber State senior linebacker Winston Reid has been named to the Watch list for the Reese's Senior Bowl. Reid is one of five from the Big Sky on the preseason watch list.Â
The Reese's Senior Bowl invited elite draft prospects from around the country to showcase their talent and connect with coaches and decision-makers from all 32 NFL teams.Â
The 2024 Senior Bowl will be held on February 3, 2024, in Mobile, Alabama.Â
The last Wildcat to participate in the Senior Bowl was Taron Johnson in 2018. Johnson was drafted in the fourth round of the NFL Draft by the Buffalo Bills that season. He is entering his sixth season with the Bills this year. Â
Earlier this summer, Reid was selected as the Big Sky Preseason Defensive MVP. He is also a preseason All-American. He is serving as a team captain for the second-straight year.Â
The St. George, Utah native, returns to the Wildcats for the 2023 season after earning All-America honors and first-team All-Big Sky honors last season. He finished sixth in the Big Sky in tackles with 112 for an average of 8.6 per game, while serving as team captain and helping Weber State to a 10-win season and a trip to the second round of the FCS Playoffs.Â
He had 68 solo tackles, the sixth-most in a season in WSU history, and posted 10 or more tackles five times during the season. He also finished in a tie for first in the Big Sky with five forced fumbles, tied for the second-most in a season in school history. He forced three fumbles with two strip sacks, and one led to a touchdown in Weber State's win over Idaho State and was honored as the National Player of the Week. He finished with four sacks on the season.Â
Reid enters the 2023 season having played in 35 career games since his Wildcat career began as a walk-on in 2017. He has been a part of three Big Sky Championship teams and four trips to the FCS Playoffs. He enters the season with 163 career tackles with 16.5 tackles for loss and 5.5 sacks. He also has seven forced fumbles, tied for the third-most in a career in WSU history.Â
Weber State opens the 2023 season on Thursday, August 31 at home against Central Washington.Â
