Senior Stars
Weber State has three returning seniors for the Wildcats. Setter Kate Payne, opposite Baylee Bodily, and middle blocker Liana Woodley. Last season, Payne played in 117 sets, totaled 1,166 assists, 403 digs, and 169 total attacks. Bodily played in 105 sets last season and totaled 276 kills. She had an attack percentage of .186 and collected 54 blocks. Woodley totaled 144 kills and 84 blocks playing in 94 sets for the Wildcats. She finished the season with a .294 attack percentage.
Fresh Faces
Four players make up the freshman class for 2024. Morgan Pratt a setter and Marly Pratt a libero from Mapleton, UT. Victoria Marthaler an opposite from Albuquerque, New Mexico and Maggie Kamp, a libero from North Bend, Washington.
2024 Big Sky Conference Preseason Coaches' Poll
The Wildcats were selected first in the Big Sky Preseason Coaches' Poll racking up a total of 73 points and three first-place votes. The league's 10 first-place votes were spread out among Weber State (3), Montana State (2), Sacramento State (4), and Northern Colorado (1). Head coaches could not vote for their own teams. WSU is coming off an NCAA Tournament berth as the Wildcats look to defend their Big Sky tournament title from a season ago. The 'Cats were a four seed in Greeley and took down the fifth seeded Portland State, top-seeded Sacramento State and third seeded Montana State en route to the tournament crown.
