GAME NOTES: Wildcats travel to Seattle and Arizona for final two preseason road games

Weber State women's basketball will travel to Seattle and Arizona for their final two preseason road games. The Wildcats then face Utah Valley at home on December 20 and begin Big Sky play on January 2.

Weber State is under the direction of second year head coach Jenteal Jackson who was named the seventh head coach in WSU history. A Utah native and former in-state college player, she came to Weber State after spending the two seasons as head coach at Westminster College in Salt Lake City. Prior to becoming head coach, she spent nine seasons as an assistant coach at Westminster. She played college basketball at BYU and Westminster.

The Wildcats and Redhawk's meet for the second time with the series in favor of Weber State. In the last game between the two, Weber State won 64-51 in Ogden. Seattle is 2-7 so far this season with wins over Evergreen State and East Texas A&M.

Following Saturday's game, Weber State will face the Arizona Wildcats. This will be the 10th all-time meeting between the two teams with Arizona leading the series 5-4. In the last game between the two, Arizona won 81-49.

Weber State returns to the Dee Events Center on December 20 for a game against Utah Valley. 

WSU women's basketball has a complete roster of five returners, five transfers, and five newcomers.

Five Wildcats return to the squad this season. Seniors Kendra Parra, Kennedy Eskelson, and Margarita Satini. Sophomores Taylor Smith and Amanda Edwards also return.

The Wildcat squad added five transfers to the roster. Seniors Kaitlin Burgess from Boise State and Rose Bubakar from BYU. Juniors Antoniette Emma-Nnopu from UNCG and Lanae Billy from Fort Lewis College and sophomore Japrix Stubbs from USU Eastern.

Five players make up the freshman class. Maya Davis a 5-11 guard/forward from Seattle, Washington, Fui Niumeitolu a 5-9 guard from Sandy, Utah, Mata Peaua a 6-2 forward from Reno, Nevada, Vanna Quintana a 5-9 guard from Dinuba, California, and Dakota Nap a 6-1 guard/forward from Renton, Washington.

Antoniette Emma-Nnopu is ranked fifth in the Big Sky in rebounding averaging 7.57. Emma-Nnopu is first in offensive rebounding with a 3.29 average.

Taylor Smith is ranked third in the Big Sky in free throw percentage at .917. Smith is also ranked third in blocked shots averaging 1.14.
