GAME NOTES: Wildcats set for matchup against Fighting Hawks in Big Sky Summit League Challenge

Big Sky Summit League Challenge
  • Games will take place on Wednesday, December 4 and Saturday, December 7. The majority of programs will play one home game and one road game. Due to an uneven number of members between the two conferences, four Big Sky programs will only participate in one game.
  • The two leagues will be playing for a combined trophy, taking both men's and women's results into consideration equally from 36 total games. Via tiebreaker, the Summit League claimed the trophy for the first edition of the challenge.
  • Big Sky Conference home games will be streamed on ESPN+, while Summit League home games will be available on the Summit Leagues Network.

Game Notes
  • Weber State women's basketball hits the road for a game against North Dakota as part of the Big Sky Summit League Challenge on December 4. The team then heads to Seattle on December 14.
  • Weber State is under the direction of second year head coach Jenteal Jackson who was named the seventh head coach in WSU history. A Utah native and former in-state college player, she came to Weber State after spending the two seasons as head coach at Westminster College in Salt Lake City. Prior to becoming head coach, she spent nine seasons as an assistant coach at Westminster. She played college basketball at BYU and Westminster.
  • The Wildcats and Fighting Hawk's meet for the 15th time with a series of 10-4 in favor of North Dakota. In the last game between the two, North Dakota won 76-54 in Grand Forks.
  • After Wednesday's game, the Wildcats head to Seattle University. The Wildcats and Redhawk's meet for the second time with the series in favor of Weber State. In the last game between the two, Weber State won 64-51 in Ogden.
  • Traveling to Arizona on December 16. The next home game for WSU will be on December 20 against Utah Valley.
  • WSU women's basketball has a complete roster of five returners, five transfers, and five newcomers.
  • Five Wildcats return to the squad this season. Seniors Kendra Parra, Kennedy Eskelson, and Margarita Satini. Sophomores Taylor Smith and Amanda Edwards also return.
  • The Wildcat squad added five transfers to the roster. Seniors Kaitlin Burgess from Boise State and Rose Bubakar from BYU. Juniors Antoniette Emma-Nnopu from UNCG and Lanae Billy from Fort Lewis College and sophomore Japrix Stubbs from USU Eastern.
  • Five players make up the freshman class. Maya Davis a 5-11 guard/forward from Seattle, Washington, Fui Niumeitolu a 5-9 guard from Sandy, Utah, Mata Peaua a 6-2 forward from Reno, Nevada, Vanna Quintana a 5-9 guard from Dinuba, California, and Dakota Nap a 6-1 guard/forward from Renton, Washington.
