Wildcats fall in matchup at North Dakota, 69-73

GRAND FORKS, N.D. - The Weber State women's basketball team went up against North Dakota in this Wednesday evening's Big Sky Summit League Challenge matchup. The Wildcats fell 69-73 to the Fighting Hawks.
First Half | The first quarter ended 28-17 in favor of the Fighting Hawks. Weber State got out to a slow start, until an 8-0 run helped boost the Wildcats to trail North Dakota by nine.
Two three-pointers early in the second quarter by Kendra Parra put the Wildcats 23-33. Weber State continued to string together a few more runs before the half but it was not enough to overcome the advantage that the Fighting Hawks held, ending the half 31-46.
Second Half | The Wildcats made their comeback after the half, putting up 21 points in the third quarter led by Antoniette Emma-Nnopu with seven.
Weber State was persistent in the fourth quarter taking an early six-point run courtesy of four points by Emma-Nnopu and two by Rose Bubakar. A tough Wildcat team battled to trail the Fighting Hawks by three with under two minutes to go. However, a three-pointer put up by North Dakota extended their lead by six. Unable to recover from the deficit, the green and white secured the game 73-69.

Wildcat Stats
- Emma-Nnopu put up a single game career high 20 points to lead the Wildcats. Her first double-double of the year, she also recorded 10 rebounds.
- Taylor Smith finished the night with 12 points and six rebounds.
- Weber State will play Seattle and Arizona on the road before returning to the Dee Events Center on December 20 for a game against Utah Valley.
