Four former Wildcats will compete at US Olympic Marathon Trials

Sarah Callister Sellers, Natalie Haws Callister, Billie Hatch, and Riley Cook will all compete at the event on Saturday in Orlando.
Weber State will be well-represented in the United States Olympic Trials for the marathon this week as four former Wildcat standouts will be competing in the event.Â
The 2024 US Olympic trials will be held on Saturday, February 3 at 10 a.m. Eastern time (8 a.m. MT) in Orlando, Florida. Â
The men's and women's races will be streamed live on Peacock beginning at 8 a.m. Mountain time. The races will also be broadcast tape-delayed on NBC from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Mountain time.Â
The top three finishers in the Olympic Trials will qualify for the 2024 Olympics in Paris.Â
Weber State Hall of Fame member Sarah Callister Sellers, an Ogden native, will be competing in the trials for the second time. She has the 13th fastest time over the last two years. Â
She received worldwide attention for finishing second in the Boston Marathon in 2018 and finished 11th overall in the US Olympic Trials in 2020. Sellers is the mother of two young children, including a daughter born nine months ago.Â
She was inducted into the Weber State Hall of Fame last fall. She was a nine-time Big Sky Champion and multiple record holder during her career at Weber State from 2009-13.Â
Natalie Haws Callister will also be competing in the trials for the first time. She is the sister-in-law to Sarah Callister Sellers. Natalie is a native of Kaysville and graduated from Davis High School. She ran at Weber State from 2009-12. She is now a mother of four children and lives in Toronto with her husband Marcus Callister.Â
Recent Weber State graduate Billie Hatch will be competing for the first time in the trials. Hatch graduated from Weber State last year and competed with the Wildcats from 2020-23. She was a four-time Big Sky champion and also graduated from Weber State with two master's degrees.Â
On the men's side, Ogden native Riley Cook will be competing. Cook has won nine marathons in his career, including multiple Ogden Marathon races. At age 42, Cook is one of the oldest competitors in the field and is a first-time Olympic trials qualifier. Cook competed at Weber State from 2003-06 was a Big Sky champion.Â
