Weber State falls 80-62 at Idaho State

POCATELLO, Idaho - Weber State saw its six-game winning streak snapped with an 80-62 loss to Idaho State Saturday night at Reed Gym.Â
The Bengals shot 59.6 percent from the field, the best percentage by any team against Weber State all season. ISU was also 10 of 21 from 3-point range, the most 3-pointers WSU has given up in a game this season.Â
Weber State shot 42 percent from the field and was 5 of 16 from 3-point range.Â
The Bengals led by as many as eight late in the first half and held a 32-26 lead at halftime.Â
Idaho State scored the first six points of the second half and took a 12-point lead. WSU cut the lead to nine points with 14:07 to play but was never closer than that the rest of the way.Â
ISU led by 18 with 11:02 to play and led by their highest of 21 points with 1:05 remaining.Â
Idaho State outrebounded the Wildcats 32-24 and had 13 assists, compared to just six for Weber State.Â
Dillon Jones led the Wildcats with 17 points and 10 rebounds for his 16th double-double of the season.Â
Jones was the only Wildcat in double figures.Â
KJ Cunningham had nine points. He also played his 135th game in his WSU career, now the most games played in school history.Â
Steven Verplancken and Blaise Threatt each added eight points for the Wildcats.Â
Weber State now sits at 18-10 overall and 9-6 in Big Sky play. The Wildcats are now fourth in the Big Sky standings with three games remaining in the regular season.Â
WSU closes out the home season with two games against Northern Colorado on Thursday and Northern Arizona on Saturday. The final regular season game will be on March 4 at Montana State, before the Big Sky Tournament March 9-13 in Boise, Idaho.Â
