'Cats finish strong over split weekend

Wildcat track and field split the weekend between the UVU Invitational and the Mike Fanelli Track Classic this past weekend.
UVU INVITATIONAL:
The 'Cats rallied together 10 total team points for a third place finish with multiple athletes moving up on the All-Time list along with a handful of first place finishes.
Makayla Oliver, Jasmine Devers, Payge Walz and Abby Hancock recorded a first finish in the 4x100 relay with a time of 46.03, moving into third on Weber State's All-Time list.
Dawson Rothenbuhler finished first in the shot put with a mark of 48-10.75 and Shannan Fonua finished fourth with a mark of 42-06.25. Rothenbuhler's finish moved them into second on the all-time list.
Angelyca Chapman led the squad in the 400 meters with a first place finish at 55.58 seconds and Elizabeth Littlewood recorded a PR with a time of 59.53.
Walz finished second in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 14.07 and Eden Devries finished eighth at 14.92.
Hancock recorded a third place finish in the 100 meter dash with a time of 12.00 seconds, Oliver finished sixth at 12.06 and Devers finished tenth at 12.36.
Oliver went on to finish third in the 200 meter dash with a time of 24.81 and third in the long jump with a mark of 18-04.5.
Sandra Aberg finished third in the 800 meter at 2:16.00.
Abby Triplett finished third in the high jump with a mark of 5-03.25 and both Aimee Chambers and Shelby Johnson finished sixth with a mark of 04-11.
Eliza Smith finished fourth in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 1:04.47
MIKE FANELLI TRACK CLASSIC:
Saga Hagelin recorded a second place finish in the 3000 meter steeplechase with a time of 10:21.41 and Bailey Winter finished third at 10:34.64. Hagelin has moved into tenth on the all-time list along with breaking the freshman record following their performance.
UP NEXT:
The 'Cats will be back in action next week for the U of U and WSU Spring Open in Salt Lake on April 6.
