Weber State drops regular season finale at Montana State

Weber State will be the No. 4 seed in the conference tournament and will play No. 5 seed Montana State on Monday, March 11 in Boise.
BOZEMAN, Mont. - Montana State made 13 3-pointers and had a big second half to knock off Weber State 76-64 in the final regular season game Monday night in Bozeman.Â
The loss ends the regular season at 20-11 and 11-7 in Big Sky play. Weber State wil be the No. 4 seed in the Big Sky Tournament and will meet Montana State once again on Monday, March 11 in Boise. The Bobcats earned the No. 5 seed with a 9-9 conference record.Â
The two teams will meet in the conference tournament for the third straight year and will play on Monday at 5:30 p.m. at the Idaho Central Arena.Â
Montana State made 13 3-points, the most against the Wildcats all season, and show 61 percent from the field in teh second half to beat the Wildcats.Â
The game was tied 32-32 at halftime and Weber State led by eight points with 10 minutes to play. But the Bobcats went on a 14-0 run and a 21-2 run to blow the game open. WSU scored just eight points in the final 10 minutes of the game.Â
For the game the Bobcats shot 52 percent from the field, compared to 45 percent for the Wildcats. WSU made just four 3-pointers, tied for the fewest in a game this season.Â
Dillon Jones led the Wildcats with 24 points, nine rebounds, three assists, three steals, and a blocked shot.Â
Steven Verplancken added 12 points with seven rebounds. Blaise Threatt had 10 and KJ Cunningham had eight points.Â
