Three Wildcats Earn All-Big Sky Honors

FARMINGTON, Utah – Three Wildcats earned All-Big Sky honors on Wednesday as the league released its women's golf All-Conference teams and individual awards with Isabel Gutierrez, Sofia Fuenmayor and Emily Song each receiving honors.

Gutierrez and Fuenmayor were each named to the All-Big Sky Second Team, while Emily Song was named All-Big Sky Honorable Mention.

Gutierrez posted a team-best 73.53 stroke average this past season. She recorded five top-20 finishes, including a trio of top-10's. She posted a career-best score of 5-under par 211 to open the season at the Timpanogos Collegiate and added a career-best single round score of 68 at the Eagle Invitational en route to a career-best second place finish. Isabel carded nine rounds of even-par or better, three of which were rounds in the 60's.

Fuenmayor recorded a 74.23 stroke average and finished in the top-20 in three tournaments, two of which were top-10's. Her season-best finish came at the Red Rocks Invitational, where she tied for seventh with a 1-over par total of 217 on rounds of 72, 75 and 70. She posted 10 rounds of even-par or better during the season.

Song was second on the team in stroke average at 74.17. She recorded four top-20 finishes. She finished in the top-5 in three tournaments, including a season-best third place finish at the Big Sky Conference Championships, where she shot a 1-under par total of 212. Her final round 69 in the conference tournament was a career-best, and helped her set a career-best mark for lowest 54-hole score and was the best finish of her career.

Sacramento State's Sneha Sharan led four Hornets on the All-Big Sky First Team and earned the league's Player of the Year award. Amy Hodgkins of Northern Arizona earned the Freshman of the Year honor.
