Weber State softball places two on CSC Academic All-District Team

Weber State softball placed two student-athletes on the 2023-24 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District teams announced on Tuesday.
 
The award is given annually to student-athletes who maintain a 3.5 cumulative GPA and appear in 90 percent of their team's games or starting 66 percent. Pitchers must appear in 17 games and pitch at least 25 innings to qualify.
 
Mia Rushton a senior from San Diego, CA posted a 3.70 GPA and started in all 50 games for the Wildcats. Rushton finished the season with 50 hits, 32 runs, and nine RBI. Rushton finished her career in seven of the top ten career record categories and in three of the single season individual record categories in the Weber State softball record book.
 
Abby Grundy a junior from South Jordan, UT posted a 3.92 GPA and started in 48 games for the 'Cats and playing in 50. She finished the season with 50 hits, 25 runs, and 28 RBI. Grundy received All-Big Sky Conference Second Team honors and NFCA DI Second Team All-Region honors for the 2024 season.
