Wildcat Cross Country Finishes 2nd at Utah Valley Invitational

Wildcat cross country kicked off the season with a second place finish at the Utah Valley Invitational on August 30. The team finished with 65 points and defeated Utah, Southern Utah, Idaho State, and Utah Tech.

Saga Hagelin recorded a fifth place finish with a time of 16:55.3, Laurie Murphy was close behind with a sixth place finish and a time of 16:58.1, Danielle Brow finished 19th at 17:34.1, Hailey Low finished 27th with a time of 17:46.4 and Trisha Thompson Davis finished 29th at 17:48.6.

"We did much better this year. I was really happy with Saga and Laurie, Danielle and overall everyone improved from last year," head coach Paul Pilkington said.

The 'Cats previously finished third at the Utah Valley Invitational in 2023 with a total of 87 points.

Jessica Hill finished 36th at 17:59.8, Hannah Bailey finished 39th at 18:04.5, Audrey Camp Cazier finished 47th at 18:15.6, Maggie Featherstone 54th at 18:24.3 and Loryn Brimhall finished 91st at 19:11.7.

Both Lydia Felix and Courtney Earl ran unattached. Earl finished 23rd with a time of 17:43.6 and Felix finished 25th at 17:43.6.

The 'Cats will be back in action September 20 at the Idaho State Invitational in Pocatello, ID.
