OGDEN - Weber State volleyball swept Idaho this Saturday afternoon at the Swenson Gym. The win improves the Wildcats 2-0 in Big Sky play.
SET 1 | A kill by Ashley Gneiting put the 'Cats on the board in the first set. A pair of runs for the Wildcats gave the squad what they needed to secure a 25-12 first set win.Â
SET 2 | The second set saw much of the same from the Wildcats. A 6-0 run by Weber State separated them from the Vandals enough to where the Idaho squad could not recover. Gneiting led the team with eight kills, helping to secure the second set 25-16.Â
SET 3 | Weber State and Idaho stayed close in the beginning of the third set, 9-7 with the Wildcat lead. WSU found some separation with a 12-7 advantage but the Idaho Vandals battled to tie the set 12-12. Not backing down, the Wildcat offense rallied to a 25-16 set victory and 3-0 match win.Â
Weber State recorded a .386 hitting percentage compared to Idaho's .061. The WSU squad racked up 42 kills being led by Gneiting with 14. Stacia Barker totaled six block assists, a new single game career high.Â
