Women’s Basketball set to face Idaho State Saturday at home

Weber State women's basketball will matchup against the Idaho State Bengals this Saturday at the Dee Events Center.
This will be the 99th all-time meeting between the Wildcats and the Bengals. The series is led by Idaho State 50-48. Weber State leads the series in Ogden, 26-21. In the last game between the two, Idaho State won 75-57.
Idaho State is 6-7, 1-1 following a 58-50 win over Northern Colorado. Maria Dias leads the Bengals averaging 10.4 points per game. Kacey Spink is on top for the Bengals in rebounding averaging 7.4 per game and she is ranked fifth in the Big Sky. Spink also leads the team in assists and steals. Idaho State was picked sixth in the Big Sky Preseason Coaches' Poll.
Weber State is under the direction of second year head coach Jenteal Jackson who was named the seventh head coach in WSU history. A Utah native and former in-state college player, she came to Weber State after spending the two seasons as head coach at Westminster College in Salt Lake City. Prior to becoming head coach, she spent nine seasons as an assistant coach at Westminster. She played college basketball at BYU and Westminster.
Wildcats Kendra Parra, Kennedy Eskelson, Margarita Satini, Taylor Smith, and Amanda Edwards all return to the Weber State team this season. Weber State picked up transfers Rose Bubakar from BYU, Antoniette Emma-Nnopu from UNC Greensboro, Lanae Billy from Fort Lewis College, and Japrix Stubbs from USU Eastern. The team also welcomed five newcomers, Maya Davis, Fui Niumeitolu, Mata Peaua, Dakota Nap, and Vanna Quintana.
Following Saturday's game, the Wildcats hit the road for a game against Montana and Montana State.
