Bobcats top Wildcats in Bozeman

BOZEMAN, Mont. - The Weber State women's basketball team went up against the Montana State Bobcats this Saturday afternoon. Despite the Wildcats strong efforts to close out the weekend with a win, the Bobcats remained undefeated in Big Sky play with a final score of 75-51.
First Half | Weber State remained scoreless until the 5:07 mark courtesy of an Antoniette Emma-Nnopu layup. The Wildcats struggled on the defensive side of the court and allowed Montana State to rack up 22 points in the first quarter.
Weber State found some momentum in the second quarter, working at the deficit with an 8-0 run to trail the Bobcats by five. Stepping up on the defensive side, the Wildcats put the Bobcats in a scoring drought for three minutes. The half ended with WSU trailing by seven points, 26-33.
Second Half | Great defense and the ability to control the pace of the game allowed for a great third-quarter start for the Wildcats. However, the Bobcats high pressure forced turnovers to increase their advantage. A 12-0 scoring run for the blue and gold took back a strong lead for Montana State at 49-32. For the remaining three minutes, the Wildcats totaled seven points and trailed by 16 points heading into the final frame of gameplay.
Looking to close the gap in the fourth quarter, a 6-0 run for Weber State made it just a nine-point game. However, Montana State opened up a 71-41 lead following a 14-0 run to end the game in their favor 75-51.
