Men’s Tennis takes down UC Riverside 6-1

Las Vegas, Nevada — The Weber State Men's Tennis team notched their first win of the season taking down UC Riverside 6-1 in Las Vegas.
"Good performance today," head coach Brad Ferreira said, "Want to compliment UC Riverside for a very fair, well-competed match."
The Wildcats jumped out to an early lead in doubles play and never looked back. Connor Kruger and Ken Minh won their match on Court #1 6-2 and Tristan Sarap and William Zulch took Court #2 6-4 to clinch the doubles point.
The 'Cats dominated singles play taking the victory in five of the six singles matches. In all five match victories, the Wildcats won in two straight sets. Franco Quijano, in his second career match, dropped a competitive match 11-9 in the third set on Court #6 giving the Highlanders their lone point on the day. Sarap provided the win to clinch the game for the 'Cats in the #1 matchup winning 7-5, 6-4
The 'Cats will play the rubber match of the UNLV Tournament against New Mexico State on Sunday at 11:30 a.m. The team will look to finish with a winning record for the weekend with a win tomorrow.
